Thanks for your patronage.

Choose & Cut Trees

ARCY Acres offers a wide variety of Christmas tree species, from long needle White Pines to short needle spruce and fir varieties. For the 2009 Christmas season, we will have a limited number of trees over six feet in the 'Choose & Cut' category, as increased customer volume in the past 4 years has diminished our quantities in this category. When we established the farm, ARCY Acres was one of three Christmas tree farms in Cumberland County. When the other two farms ceased operations in 2005 and 2006 respectively, it placed increased sales pressure on our available growing stock, outpacing our original planting volume. While we dramatically increased planting numbers during the past 3 years, it will take some years to 'catch up' with the demand. The 2009 season offers some of our newly planted stock for the first time.

Our 2009 offerings will include:

White Pines -  4-7 feet (only up to 6 Feet remaining)

Scotch Pine - up to 6 feet

Norway Spruce - limited quantities in the 4-7 foot range  (only up to 6 Feet remaining)

White Spruce - up to 8 feet  (only up to 6 Feet remaining)

Colorado Blue Spruce - limited for Choose & Cut (most are sold as live B&B due to cost) (Very few C&C up to 6 feet)

Canaan Fir - limited quantities up to 8 feet (most smaller) Our younger stock looks beautiful for future years. (Tall trees SOLD OUT)

Leyland Cypress - good selection of sizes 5-8 feet. (The perfect tree for those with allergies)

Pre-Cut Trees
  - (Stored & Displayed In Water) (SOLD OUT)

In an effort to bolster availability for our customers, we have purchased a large quantity of Fraser Fir (cannot grow them here), larger Canaan Fir, and Concolor Fir from fellow growers in our Tennessee Christmas Tree Growers Association. As we have done for the last three years, we only bring in top quality (#1 Premium) trees from northeast Tennessee, and our complete sellout each year tells us that our customers are happy with the sizes, quality and variety that we are offering. The 'Pre-cut trees' we offer are cut on a Monday or Tuesday, baled on Wednesday and delivered to our farm on Thursday the week prior to Thanksgiving. Once unloaded, inspected, and graded, a fresh cut is given to each tree and then it is placed in our unique "Tree Swimming Pool", a major addition to our farm in 2006. The trees are stored in 4-6 inches of water until they are displayed on our tree rack for your selection. Each tree is then displayed in its own water basin to ensure freshness until sale. The tree is then prepped for your trip home, with another fresh cut, mechanical shaking of the previous years dead needles, custom drilled (if you have one of our 'Pin Stands'), and baled for your convenience on the trip from the farm and into your home.

Our 2009 offerings will feature:

Canaan Fir - Available in the 7-10 foot range, these trees are magnificent. (A Canaan Fir is a hybrid cross between a Fraser Fir & Balsam Fir.)   (SOLD OUT )

Concolor Fir - Nice selection of this unique Bluish-Green fragrant tree in 5-8 foot sizes. Our customers who purchase Concolor Firs say that it is the only tree they want to have.  (SOLD OUT)

Fraser Fir - Beautiful selection of the 'most fragrant of all Christmas Trees' - Available in 4 to 12 foot sizes. (Larger sizes sell out fast so come early!)    (SOLD OUT)

TABLETOP (Live) Trees

During the 2009 season we will offer several varieties of tabletop Christmas trees grown in containers. These trees can be used for the holiday season, then planted in your landscape for your enjoyment in the years to come. Fir & Spruce varieties available in 2-3 foot sizes plus container height. (SOLD OUT)

Ball & Burlap (Live) Trees

Ball & Burlap (B&B) trees are a wonderful method to have a live tree for Christmas and then enjoy it's continued growth for years to come. ARCY Acres offers a large variety of B&B trees, all of which are grown right here on the Cumberland Plateau at our farm. If we can grow them, you can too! Our Ball & Burlap trees are dug with a 20" diameter tree spade, limiting us to trees in the 4-6 foot range. Please do not ask us to dig larger trees, as we cannot ensure their survival with the diameter root ball dug at our farm. Each tree is dug, hand balled with burlap, and then tied in a metal protective basket to protect the root ball during transport and handling during the Christmas season. We recommend that live trees be kept in the heat of your home for not longer than 10 days or so. It is very important to keep live trees away from all heat sources, watered daily, and maintained in as cool an environment as possible. B&B trees are not loaded into car trunks, nor on the top of vehicles for your safety and protection. You will need a trailer or truck for transport home. We also provide complete planting instructions for your convenience at time of purchase. (No Trees Will Be Dug During our Open Days.) Nice selection in our B&B Area.

Our 2009 offerings will include:

Arizona Cypress (Blue Ice) - (None Left Available for Christmas 2009)  A beautiful bluish gray in color, they mature into a gorgeous specimen tree for any landscape. (Requires FULL Sun to Limited Shade.)  (Another sub-species 'Carolina Sapphire' is available in 2009 - Limited quantities.)

Canaan Fir - Available in the 4-6 foot range. A very popular fir for growth on the Plateau. (A Canaan Fir is a hybrid cross between a Fraser Fir & Balsam Fir. (Sun to Partial Shade)  (SOLD OUT)

Norway Spruce - Nice selection of this very hardy Spruce, known for its nearly disease free growth habit. The fastest growing of all the Spruce varieties, and probably the easiest to grow (4-6 Ft available) When mature, this tree has an extremely dark green color with a very dense cover for birds to nest in. (Full sun to Partial Shade - the more sun, the better.) (SOLD OUT)

White Spruce - A first cousin to the Blue Spruce, the White Spruce has a slightly faster growth rate than the Blue Spruce and is a very tight and self shaping evergreen. Grows well in this area. Full sun to most shade. (4-6 Foot Available) One of the most tolerant spruce varieties for growth in shady areas.) (SOLD OUT)

Southwestern White Pine - A variation of the Eastern White Pine normally found in this area (more lacy branches, often with a blue cast), this variety also grows well here, once it is over 3 feet tall. We grew a test plot of these trees, and are currently offering them in the B&B category. Sizes 5- 6 feet. (Full Sun Required, as with most Pines.) (SOLD OUT)

Eastern White Pine - A few of these trees are offered this year in the 4-6 foot range. (Requires Full sun) (2 Left)
